Discovery Church is a place where we have a love for preaching and teaching: we actually treat the Bible like it is God's word. We take an "expository" approach in our preaching and teaching  which means that the main idea of the Scripture being preached is the main idea of the sermon or lesson. We strive to be hospitable and relational. It is hard to attend without being welcomed. We love our children. Children worship with their parents and parents are challenged to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.   We are in downtown Yankton because we want to reach people who might not be comfortable in a traditional church. Our coffee shop operates at least 3 days a week to specifically love and serve those experiencing homelessness or temporary crisis. We want to help people get connected to available resources and love them with the love of Christ.  

Join us on May 2nd for our annual C.S. Lewis Family Conference. Click the button below to Register For Free. Our focus this year is on the theme of apologetics. We have sessions on the power of story and imagination in apologetics, a session with Luke Perkins which will include some content about his experiences evangelizing on the SDSU campus, and break-out sessions on biblical masculinity and femininity. This would be a great event for students, especially those that might be planning on attending college in the fall. This is also a great event for families with young kids as we have bouncy houses and carnival games planned. There's a free lunch, good books, great fellowship and plenty of free time built in to check out Yankton's unique downtown businesses and sites.
